\u201cIt is, indeed, a remarkable difference between the children of God and worldly men, that the former, in the hope of a favorable issue at the Lord’s hand, rely upon his word, and are not driven by restlessness to mischievous practices; while the latter, although they maintain a good cause, yet because they are ignorant of the providence of God, are hurried hither and thither; follow unlawful counsels; betake themselves to craftiness; and, in short, have no other object than to overcome evil with evil. In short, David was steady in preserving his uprightness, because he had resolved that God should be his guide. <\/b>*Meditation*<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

It would be good psalm to meditate at end of the year. David quietly waited for God’s guidance even under unfavorable circumstances. David did not confront the wicked in evil ways but waited for God’s good way and time. This year we were very busy. But was not the busy reason to overcome evil with evil? God’s people quietly live their lives in any difficulty. But they have great hope and confidence. Where do that hope and conviction come from?<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

It is the Word of God’s promise. They have hope in the Word of God through the Bible; they are sure that all the Word will come fulfilled. It is the birth of Jesus that is the clearest evidence in the human history which proves the Word of Bible shall be fulfilled. The birth of Christ, His death of our sins, His resurrection as the firstfruit of the resurrection. All these were done as God had promised. That is why people of God can live with hope and conviction in God’s promise. A new year begins in 2018. But there is nothing new to God. God, who has guided us to the paths of righteousness so far, will guide faithfully us in the same way. As trusting this in the next year, let’s live our life faithfully with hope, conviction, and joy in the place that God has appointed to us.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
