<\/b>\u201cUnder the similitude of a shepherd, he commends the care which God, in his providence, had exercised towards him. His language implies that God had no less care of him than a shepherd has of the sheep who are committed to his charge.\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cBut it should be observed, that God is a shepherd only to those who, touched with a sense of their own weakness and poverty, feel their need of his protection, and who willingly abide in his sheepfold, and surrender themselves to be governed by him.<\/span><\/b> David, who excelled both in power and riches, nevertheless frankly confessed himself to be a poor sheep, that he might have God for his shepherd.\u201d<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

David’s confession that “I shall not want because of the LORD God” must be the confession of all Christians. But sometimes we have complaints as if we lack things. Occasionally, we forget to give thanks to God. What we usually think we are in need are mostly material things. If we have a large house, if we have more income, if we have a better car, we think that we will be satisfied. However, all that God has given to us now are because we need it. And what we do not allow to have are not what we need now. It is a true joy to believe and acknowledge this fact.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>The LORD God also revives the souls of Christians and leads them in paths of righteousness. For a man to be truly satisfied, his soul must live. And to be truly happy, he must walk in righteousness. It is our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who constantly gives such spiritual blessings.
