[시편 3편]
1. 여호와여 나의 대적이 어찌 그리 많은지요 일어나 나를 치는 자가 많으니이다 2.많은 사람이 나를 대적하여 말하기를 그는 하나님께 구원을 받지 못한다 하나이다（셀라）3.여호와여 주는 나의 방패시요 나의 영광이시요 나의 머리를 드시는 자이시니이다 4.내가 나의 목소리로 여호와께 부르짖으니 그의 성산에서 응답하시는도다（셀라）5.내가 누워 자고 깨었으니 여호와께서 나를 붙드심이로다 6.천만인이 나를 에워싸 진 친다 하여도 나는 두려워하지 아니하리이다 7.여호와여 일어나소서 나의 하나님이여 나를 구원하소서 주께서 나의 모든 원수의 뺨을 치시며 악인의 이를 꺾으셨나이다 8.구원은 여호와께 있사오니 주의 복을 주의 백성에게 내리소서（셀라）
“다윗은 비록 자기의 고국에서 쫓기는 몸이었고 모든 지상적인 위로를 전혀 받지 못하는 상태에서 옴짝달싹 못하고 있었지만 그래도 그는 하나님께 대한 애원을 계속 쉬지 않았고 그분의 약속을 믿었다. 말할 수 없는 공포와 원수들의 조롱과 잔인한 공격, 그리고 자신의 생각으로는 도저히 감당할 수 없는 죽음을 대항하여 부르짖고 있다. 그는 시편 마지막에 가서 자신과 전체 교회의 모든 문제가 만사형통하도록 최종적인 축복을 하고 있다.”
“하나님은 곧 다윗의 간통죄와 우리아에 대한 사악한 배신행위에 대하여 철저한 심판을 내리셨으므로 그가 우선 마음의 고통과 두려움의 갈등으로 번민하고 있었다는 점은 의심할 여지가 없다. 그러나 그는 하나님 앞에 겸손히 엎드려 기도한 다음에 용기를 얻었으며, 사죄함을 확인하고서 하나님께서 아직도 자기 편에 서 계심을 확신하였다.”
“그러므로 다윗은 이 악한 음모를 깨뜨려버리는 것은 하나님께서 그의 교회의 안전에 대해서 배려하고 계신 덕분이라는 점을 인정하고 있다. 이 문단에서 우리는 교회를 구원할 능력이 있는 하나님께서 결코 자신의 은혜와 축복을 철회하지 않을 것이기 때문에 교회는 자기에게 떨어지는 여러 재앙으로부터 항상 구출될 것이라는 점을 알게 된다.”
교회에 속한 그리스도인들이 하나님께 결국에는 구원을 받게 되는 이유는, 그들이 죄가 없거나 예전 보다 좀 더 나은 사람이 되었기 때문이 아닙니다. 그들이 믿음으로 완전히 의로우신 예수 그리스도께 속하였기 때문입니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 영광을 예수 그리스도를 통하여 드러내시기 위하여, 그리스도께 속한 자들을 구원하시는 것입니다. 예수님의 의로움 이외에, 여러분에게 하나님께 구원을 구하는 다른 정당한 이유가 있습니까…?

[Psalm 3]
1 O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; 2 many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. Selah 3 But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 4 I cried aloud to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah 5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. 7 Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. 8 Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah
“David, although driven from his kingdom, and pressed down with utter despair of relief from every earthly quarter, ceases not to call upon God, and supports himself from his promise against the greatest terrors, against the mockery and cruel assaults of his enemies; and, finally, against death itself, which then forced itself upon his consideration. In the end of the psalm, he congratulates himself and the whole Church on the happy issue of all.”
“for as God punished him expressly on account of his adultery, and his wicked treachery towards Uriah, there can be no doubt that he was at first distressed with grievous and dreadful torments of mind. But after he had humbled himself before God, he took courage; and being well assured of having obtained forgiveness, he was fully persuaded that God was on his side, and knew that he would always preside over his kingdom, and show himself its protector.”
“David therefore, acknowledges the dispersion of this wicked conspiracy to have been owing to the care which God has about the safety of his Church. From this passage we learn, that the Church shall always be delivered from the calamities which befall her, because God who is able to save her, will never withdraw his grace and blessing from her.”
Christians who belong to the Church are eventually saved by God because they are neither sinful nor better than before. But because, by faith, they belong to Jesus Christ, who is perfectly righteous. God saves those who belong to Christ in order to expose His glory through Jesus Christ. Do you have any more legitimate reason for your salvation from God than the righteousness of Jesus Christ…?
